As the finishing touches to the Interim Railway Budget, the last to be presented by the UPA II government on Wednesday, get underway, the transportation behemoth continues to battle mounting losses and deteriorating standards with no solution out of the situation. (Read: Expect no railway fare cut)

Despite the multiple fare revisions, it is staring at an overall resource gap of over Rs 8,000 crore including around Rs 5,000 crore in the passenger segment alone. Its operating expenses has gone up by over Rs 1,000 crore when compared with last year’s estimates. Dwindling earnings has meant that the money needed to repair and renew its assets have gone down by almost Rs 1,000 crore.
The revenue shortfall is upwards of Rs 6,000 crore. Its operating ratio has touched upwards of 90 per cent. Operating ratio is money spent to earn every Rs 100, lower the figure, the better. By its own admission, progress towards higher earnings is lower than its ballooning expenditure.
When Union railway minister Mallikarjun Kharge rises to present his budget on Wednesday, he would not have a rosy picture to show.
With the general elections nearing, he is expected to walk a tightrope between keeping a few of the existing projects afloat and announcing a few new ones.
Premium trains with dynamic pricing are expected to be announced for the busiest routes. Whether Kharge decides to levy the periodic fuel adjustment component on passenger fares — the exercise is due in April — is to be seen. The idea of increasing the speed of the existing trains to upwards of 200 km is also likely to find mention. “Safety” is expected to be a key word in the budget speech with provisions for better fire-safety measures in trains in the wake of a spate of on-board fires. A new special safety fund seeking contribution from the Central coffers could also mind mention.
With a likely gross budgetary support in the region of Rs 30,000 crore for national projects and the Dedicated Freight Corridor, Railways is once again expected to be left fending for itself to run regular operations including

How to reach Medaram jatara ?-APSRTC to run 12000 buses for Medaram Jatara 2014 from Hyderabad,Warangal,karimnagar

The APSRTC will begin its Medaram jatara special operations from February 9 to 16 and run 3,600 buses from various destinations in the State, said Executive Director (Operations) G.V. Ramana Rao.

The RTC transported 55 lakhs pilgrims during last jatara in 2014 and it estimates that about 16 lakh pilgrims depend on buses to reach the jatara site this time.

“The arrival of pilgrims has already started. On Sunday, we operated 100 buses. For the last one month, we have been running more buses from district headquarters,” he told the newsmen.

Mr. Rao was here on Monday and visited Medaram village to review the arrangements made by the APSRTC.

The corporation proposes to run 100 buses, including air conditioned buses, from Hyderabad every day, during the jatara time.

Earlier, the RTC operated 20 buses per day from state capital. The RTC is pressing into service 12,000 personnel for special operations of the jatara.

They include security staff, mechanics, drivers, conductors and supervisors. It is also introducing 300 Ticket Issuing Machines (TIMs) to help pilgrims obtain tickets without waiting for long in queues.

Referring to cost benefit of operations, Mr. Rao said during the last jatara, the RTC earned a revenue of Rs. 16 crore and this time it would be more.

“It is a break even position from our view. The expenditure involved is huge. We cannot operate keeping profit in view as ours is largest transport organisation on which people depend. We need to rise to their expectations rather calculate profit and loss,” he said.

The district administration has earmarked 45 acres of land adjacent to the jatara site at Medaram village for setting up temporary bus stand and other facilities for the ASPRTC personnel on jatara duties like accommodation, kitchen among others.

How to reach Medaram?

From Hyderabad one can reach Medaram via Warangal. Warangal is at a distance of 130 kms from Warangal and from there it is 110 kms to Medaram. Warangal is well connected with trains and buses from all parts of Andhra Pradesh. From Warangal one can take RTC buses or taxis or trains which will take the passengers up to Nalgonda railway station to reach Medaram. Nearby railway station to Medaram is Nalgonda Railway station which is at a distance of 54 km, Srirampuram Railway station at a distance of 56 km, Macheral railway station which is 56 kms and Tipparthi railway station which is at a distance of 60 kms from Medaram. RTC buses take the passengers up to Medaram. Nearby Air ports of Medaram are Warangal airport, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, and Vijayawada Airport. Nearby cities are Warangal and Hanamkonda.

Visitors who come from Lakhnavaram to Medaram should reach Pasra travelling on the main road. From there a left turn is to be taken and Medaram is 24 kms from Pasra. There is another route from Pasra in which tourists should travel 13 kilometers and reach Tadvai and from there they have to take a left turn and travel 14 kms to reach Medaram

APSRTC will operate more than 1,000 buses to Medaram during the Sammakka Saralamma jatara that begins on 8^th February, 2014. From Mahatma Gandhi bus station one luxury bus will leave for every twenty minutes. APSRTC will run buses from all the districts of Telangana to Warangal for Medaram Jatara.

 OUCET- 2014 : NOTIFICATION

Applications in the prescribed form are invited from the candidates who have passed or appearing for the final year examination in the qualifying degree for entrance tests and admission into various P.G. courses (M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., M.C.J., B.L.I.Sc., M.L.I.Sc., M.S.W., M.Ed., M.P.Ed., etc.), P.G. Diploma Courses & 5 yr. Integrated Programmes offered by Osmania, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi and Palamuru Universities in their campus, constituent and affiliated colleges for the academic year 2014 - 2014. The details of the courses, eligibility criteria and other rules and regulations are given in the Information Brochure.
5% Supernumerary seats in each course in University campus & constituent colleges are available to the candidates from outside Andhra Pradesh under National Integration Quota (NIQ).

Filled in application and ICR sheet along with a demand draft (drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of “The Director, Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University” payable at Hyderabad) towards registration fee should reach the Director, Directorate of Admissions, Near PGRR CDE, Osmania University, Hyderabad-7 on or before the dates mentioned below. The registration fee details are given in Information Brochure. The application form along with ICR summary sheet and Information Brochure are also available on O.U. website www.osmania.ac.in/admissions. Candidates can download a copy of application form & ICR sheet and apply with a DD for Rs.340/-per subject plus late fee, if any, on or before the last dates mentioned below.

Andhra Pradesh  government  conducts AP Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) every year for recruiting more teachers. The results declaration and the exams are conducted by the commissioner and school education director. The Ex-official director announces the examination results on the official website. All the applicants are eagerly awaiting the result declaration

APTET Results Candidates appear for APTET examination in a big number and give their best efforts to clear the same. The government handles the affairs for this examination and the number of candidates who appear for this examination is increasing by leaps and bounds. The candidates are showing growing interest in this examination as per the statistics of last five years. APTET exam is mostly conducted in the first week of the month of September.  The centers where the examinations are held are predefined and there are several papers and both the papers are of 150 marks. The first paper is for the primary classes and the second paper is of the secondary level. There are multiple choice questions and a minute is allotted for each question in APTET 2014. One has to be quick or the paper won’t be completed.
APTET Admit Card 2014
Admit cards are compulsory and mandatory to be carried along with while appearing for the examination. Because of the fraud cases admit cards are taken very seriously and the candidates who appear without admit cards will not be allowed to sit for the examination. The official website will declare when the admit cards are available. The hyperlink will take you to your APTET admit card after you fill in the required details. Thereafter one has to download the admit card and keep a printed copy of it ready for carrying it along. Keep checking the official website for more details and instructions. Follow all the instructions. The venue of the examination center will be printed on the admit card itself.
